Even if you are a veteran data warehousing professional, you’ll still need to learn new skills and adjust old ones when you embrace deep analytics for big data. For example, big data analytics impacts ETL, data quality, metadata, and master data management. Most data warehousing architectures today are designed for reporting and OLAP, not complex analytics, and must be redesigned. And real-time analytics requires an infrastructure for messaging, services, event processing, and streaming data which few data warehouses support today. This presentation will catalog the many tasks involved in revamping a data warehouse to support deep analytics with big data.
