CBS Interactive was an early user of analytic databases to cost-effectively accelerate query performance for ad hoc queries and reports running against an enterprise data warehouse that adds 200 GB of data daily. As the velocity of business increases and the complexity of ad hoc queries grows, the company is now turning to solutions based on Hadoop and NoSQL to evolve its data warehousing architecture. This session will describe the evolution of CBS Interactive’s data warehousing architecture. It will examine the business and analytical drivers forcing the architectural changes, the technical rationale for adding new data management structures, and the impact of those structures on its BI environment (e.g., DW models, ETL, BI tools), funding, and staffing.
Business and IT Executives can qualify to attend the TDWI Solution Summit with a full participation package, including hotel, meals, and all event programs.
