Company Case Study by HCSC - A Seat at the Table: Building the Information Organization

March 9th, 2010

9:15 am - 10:00 am

In health care, data is more than just a corporate asset—it informs the quality of care. In this presentation, Laura Tumperi will discuss how HCSC—the country’s largest customer-owned health insurer, with 12.4 million members in its Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas—raised the corporate awareness of information, ultimately creating a discrete organization that encompasses master data management, data warehousing, information architecture, business intelligence, and information governance. Laura will lay out the steps she and her team—now 400 strong—took to formalize a discrete information management organization. She will also describe how information management not only got a seat at the executive table, but how her organization is helping HCSC drive member retention, improve care, and sustain its industry leadership.

Business and IT Executives can qualify to attend the TDWI Solution Summit with a full participation package, including airfare, hotel, meals, and all event programs.
