W7P Extending the Data Warehouse to Support Online Marketing and Social Media

August 18th, 2010

2:15 pm - 5:30 pm

Prerequisite: Familiarity with the basics of BI.

Data about customers and their behavior is increasingly valuable and is more accessible than ever thanks to the Web and mobile devices. The biggest areas of impact are marketing and sales, where BI and analytics support have been weak to nonexistent.

Combined with modern architectures and analysis techniques, Web and social data can transform marketing and sales. We will look at examples highlighting online marketing, Web analytics, and social media, and how they generate and use customer data. We’ll review Web technologies and the data they generate that we can use for analysis in a corporate context.

You Will Learn

  • Why the Web and social media are important and how they are influencing companies
  • How to use social media and the Web as a source of data
  • Social media and marketing metrics and measurement

Geared To

  • BI/DW architects, designers, and managers
