Ken Collier was the first to describe how to apply agile development techniques to BI in a landmark Cutter Consortium report. Collier describes agile BI as a feature-driven, iterative, and incremental approach that delivers working BI features to users every few weeks. Rather than developing architectural layers in sequence (integration, warehouse, marts, applications), BI teams use agile techniques to deliver incremental functionality that slices end to end through the architecture. This session introduces the principles and practices of agile BI with a specific focus on the management and leadership practices required to make it succeed.
