Like many companies, Intuit, the maker of Quicken and TurboTax, has grown via acquisition. It inherited business units with various degrees of data warehousing and business intelligence expertise and infrastructure. To deliver more integrated information and reduce costs, Intuit decided to merge the BI operations into a corporate group and create a centralized data warehouse. This created a host of problems, such as project backlogs and renegade data marts. This workshop will ask you to work in teams to devise a new organizational strategy and architecture for Intuit’s BI program that ensures speedy delivery of BI solutions without undermining architectural integrity and information consistency. Then you’ll hear how Intuit approached the situation and see how well your strategy maps to reality!
