Keynote

Keynote: Organizing for Performance: Creating Optimal BI Teams

May 13th, 2010

8:00 am - 8:45 am

Prerequisite: None

Business intelligence is a unique discipline within information technology. BI professionals must master the twin domains of technology and business to deliver effective results, and BI teams must foster strong liaisons with the business groups they support. To do this, BI managers need to choreograph activities that span a range of skill sets, functional areas, geographies, and organizational boundaries. They must also reshape the BI organization as it grows over time and matures in sophistication. This keynote will examine how to create and manage a high-performance BI organization that delivers results efficiently and effectively and is considered a strategic resource by the business.

You Will Learn

  • The charter for BI teams: running BI like a business
  • How BI teams evolve over time
  • How to create effective alignment with the business
  • How to manage a distributed BI organization
  • How to maintain standards while accelerating development
